Our glazes are mixed by hand in the studio. During studio sessions clay is purchased at an additional cost. Firings are charged per weight at 7 a kilo. Workshops at the ceramic house.

We have a full bags 10 12 5kg for 20 and half bags for 10 recycled clay for 2 a log. Unfortunately due to workplace health and safety regulations our studio is a strictly adults only workplace. All of shapes avaliable for painting are on display at the ceramic house. The pair have been creating ceramics together under the collaborative name mas miek since 2010 and in april 2017 opened their dream studio space in newstead brisbane.

Most of our workshops delve into a certain ceramic technique which are perfect for beginners and for more advanced students wishing to push their practise further. Please remember to stick to the cafe seating area and not the studio tables for they may be booked by students participating in a class session.

All of our prices vary on the vessel chosen. They are most welcome under supervision in the front coffee shop. Regardless of course or level firing charges will be included only if the art piece is fired at ceramic house. Mas miek was founded in 2010 with her daughter charlie in their hinterland studio.

Clay may be purchased by the bag onsite at the ceramic house. All other tools glazes and facilities are free to students. The ceramic house is a working studio with inherent site dangers for children as sharp or very hot objects so we have a no children policy in the studio part of the workshop. If the unfired piece is taken away we will calculate costs based on the market rate of the specific clay.
